As a smaller, private institution, we have the flexibility and freedom to rapidly adjust our curriculum according to current affairs and changes in today’s society and business environment. In fact, our programmes are reviewed and adapted every year in order to ensure we’re providing a highly relevant education that prepares our students for a rapidly changing world. We believe that research is a core activity within a business school, and part of our academic legitimacy relies on our capacity to produce knowledge through research, experimentation, and evaluation. We see research as a great path to learning as it cultivates critical analysis, structuring reasoning, and seeing things from a new, advanced perspective.
Since 2003, we have had our own research centre known as the CEREN (Centre de Recherche sur l'Entreprise) led by the Associate Dean of Knowledge & Transfer. The CEREN brings together all the research activities at BSB.
BSB is the only French business school to have its research centre assessed by the prestigious HCERES, which is the national independent administrative authority that evaluates research units.
The research work carried out in the CEREN aims to promote models of organisation and governance that can enhance and regenerate their ecosystems based on the concepts of social and societal responsibility, ethics, sustainability and diversity.

BSB is one of the seven founding institutions of UBFC, a community born in April 2015 that embodies the development of higher education, research and innovation in our region. AACSB, an American organisation, is synonymous with the highest standards of excellence. Since 1916, AACSB provides quality assurance as well as business education intelligence, and accredits the best business schools in the world for the quality of their management training based on the academic level of teachers, the relevance of the educational process, and the means implemented to allow students to conduct their studies. BSB has been AACSB-accredited since 2014.
AMBA accreditation denotes the highest standard of achievement in postgraduate business education.

France has always been known for having some of the highest cultural and educational standards in the world. Throughout its history, the French higher education system has undergone multiple changes in order to stay relevant as our society evolves. Nowadays, as internationalisation has become one of the key aspects of higher education quality improvement, most reforms are aimed at enhancing the reputation of the university education system and increasing the competitiveness of French tertiary institutions on the global stage.
In France, higher education consists of two main categories: Public Universities and Grandes Écoles, which are prestigious schools mostly focused on Business or Engineering.
France’s public universities are funded by the national government, which closely regulates the “national diplomas” granted by the universities. This system allows the universities to offer students a good education in all general disciplines at an affordable price.
Since French public universities have a legal obligation to accept all candidates of the region who hold a Baccalauréat (French high school diploma), admission is often not very selective.
Nearly 100% of the programmes are taught in French and the class size is much larger than the Grande Écoles, often held in amphitheatres of up to 600 students at a time.
It would be highly unusual for a public university to offer internships, professional conferences or workshops, whereas these are core elements of a private Grande École such as Burgundy School of Business.
The French “Grandes Écoles” (meaning "Great Schools") are highly selective public or private institutions accredited by the French Ministry of Education and recognised worldwide. Most of these schools are dedicated to business and engineering, but there are also the Écoles Normales Supérieures (ENS), the institutes of political studies (IEP), veterinary schools, and other schools in a variety of specialised areas. Out of the 250 business schools in France, only 39 are members of the Conférence des Grandes Écoles.
Given their prestige, Grandes Écoles typically have smaller student bodies and programmes are taught in English. For example, at BSB we only have classrooms of 40 students maximum and we offer many courses entirely in English.
International internships and study abroad opportunities are also a hallmark of France's top schools. Moreover, BSB's status as a Grande École confirms our close ties with the corporate world, which means that studying at BSB offers you the opportunity to benefit from an exceptional network of companies and entrepreneurs.
Due to their exclusive nature, only about 2% of all international students who come to France study at a Grande École.
For the past four years, BSB’s Master in Management Grand Ecole has been included in The Financial Times "Top 100 Best Masters in Management" global ranking (74th) and continues to gain places every year.
This is an extremely flexible programme which enables you to also earn a dual degree by combining it with one of our two master’s programmes or one of our seven Master of Science degrees.
